About
My unique perspective on movement therapy is informed by my own journey through back pain and other limitations. I have been a passionate instructor of Classical Pilates for over 25 years, after injuries from a car accident at age 19 forced me to take a break from a university dance program. I tried everything - every therapy that was available- from chiropractors to massage to Aston Patterning, Rolfing, physical therapy, psychotherapy (back then there was an idea it might be all in your head? Nope...) Despite intensive treatments, full recovery did not start until I started doing Classical Pilates.
Through this work, I went from being unable to lift my arms overhead or walk a mile, to completing my dance education, doing high flying trapeze, and hiking every day in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
As with aging and a very active lifestyle, I have endured other injuries and setbacks over the years. Without fail, I have been able to rehab and recover from those injuries with Pilates and Movement Therapy. I have dedicated my professional life to guiding a diverse clientele through pain to total recovery. In addition to Comprehensive Classical Pilates Training and Master's level training, I have a background in ethnic and contemporary dance, and extensive experience practicing Ido Portal's generalized movement practice, and other systems and engage in ongoing movement study and exploration with some of the best Pilates and movement teachers in the world.
I lead workshops and guest teaches frequently, and am the owner and manager of Functional Strength Pilates in Lone Tree, Colorado, where I founded the Functional Strength Pilates Teacher Training program, an in-depth and uniquely supported comprehensive Classical Pilates Teacher Training program.
